Harley Race - Pro-Wrestling NOAH Training Camp -- September 19-23, 2006
Annual WLW camp to feature NOAH, WWE scouts Scouts from Japans Pro-Wrestling NOAH and World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. will be evaluating talent at the third annual World League Wrestling tryout camp Sept. 19-23 at the Eldon Community Center in Eldon, Mo. Established in 1999 by eight-time World Champion Harley Race, World League Wrestling and the Harley Race Wrestling Academy has produced wrestling stars such as WWE Superstar Trevor Murdoch and Cauliflower Alley Club Future Legend winner Superstar Steve. Ted DiBiase, Jr. and Mike DiBiase, sons of wrestling great "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, are currently training at the Academy. Camp attendees will have an opportunity to learn from Race as well as Pro-Wrestling NOAH stars Naomichi Marufuji, KENTA, Takeshi Morishima, Muhammad Yone and Takashi Sugiura and instructor Superstar Steve. Ryu Nakata, part owner of Pro Wrestling Noah and Simon Dean from the WWE talent-relations department will be present at the camp to watch the talent perform. Simon has recently replaced Tommy Dreamer in the WWE office. Also present will be Ken Hirayama of NOAH's U.S. office in Honolulu. The camp will be covered by Samurai TV, NTV Tokyo, Weekly Pro Wrestling Magazine, Weekly Gong Magazine, and Tokyo Sports newspaper.
Simon Dean Wrestlers from last years camp selected to compete in Japan for Pro-Wrestling NOAH were Bobby Fish from N.Y., Wade Chism from Versailles, Mo., Jason Bates from S.D. and Neil Isaak from N.D, Keith Walker Chicago, Ill. In addition, WLW referee John Cone received a developmental contract offer from WWE. Also two other workers from Canada and New York got developmental contracts from WWE. The camp will conclude with a live-wrestling event. Experienced wrestlers hoping to participate on the card need to bring a current physical and HIV and Hepatitis blood tests. A $250.00 non refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot. Due to an increased interest at last years camp, WLW has increased the maximum number of camp attendees from 50 to 60.
