In St. Peters, MO., WLW star Darin Waid grew up idolizing Rey
Mysterio, Jr. and Eddie Guerrero. He began training at the Harley Race
Wrestling Academy two months after graduating from high school and his
debut match was in April 2004 against current WLW World Heavyweight
Champion Dangerous Derek.
The high-flying Waid earned a chance to compete for WWE
during his rookie year, teaming with "Stunning" Tyler Dunning against
T-Money & Superstar Steve in a dark match in November 2004. He had
established himself as one of the top young stars in WLW when he was
sidelined in April 2006 with a knee injury. Complications from surgery
kept Waid on the shelf until March 2007, but since his return to the
ring, he has proven himself to be one of the most popular stars in WLW.
Waid also serves as the head trainer at the Harley Race
Wrestling Academy. He hopes to rise to the top of WLW by winning the WLW
World Heavyweight Title and also hopes to tour Japan and ultimately earn
a contract with WWE.
