War Cloud entered the Harley Race Wrestling
Academy's "advanced program" to fine tune his wrestling skills
early in 2000. Soon afterward, he made his World League Wrestling debut,
losing to Griz. Though usually cheered by fans, War Cloud quickly learned
that the competition in WLW was the toughest in any independent promotion.
He struggled in lower-card matches and never seemed to find a way to break
his losing streak. The Cherokee combatant would give his opponents a tough
match, but he never seemed to be able to finish his opponent off.
Having a hard time adapting to
the talented WLW roster, War Cloud continued to train in the Harley Race
Academy and continued to improve.
December 10, 2000 was the
turning point for War Cloud. In a hard-fought match, he cleanly pinned
rising star Latin Thunder for his first WLW victory. The next month, he
was scheduled to face former WLW Heavyweight Champion Trevor Rhodes, who
was the strong favorite to emerge victorious. When he left the ring in
Lathrop, MO High School, War Cloud had earned a clean victory over former
World League Wrestling Champion Trevor Rhodes.
War Cloud continues to improve
every match, and he has managed to break into the exclusive WLW Top Ten
Rankings for February 2001.
